Getting Started

Everything you need to go from zero to a running studio โ€” in plain language, no assumed knowledge. About 15 minutes end to end.

๐Ÿงฉ First, understand the two apps

My Content Tools is a suite of two separate apps sharing one account:

  1. ๐Ÿ–ฅ My Content Tools (MCT) โ€” your studio command center. Runs on your Mac desktop or laptop only (it does not install on phones). Models, shoots, revenue, compliance records, team deliveries. Windows coming soon
  2. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Model Release Pro (MRP) โ€” your on-set tool. Runs on your iPhone only (it does not install on computers). Scan model IDs, capture signatures, generate ยง2257 release paperwork. iOS on the App Store soon ยท Android coming
You sign in to both apps with the same email and password, and they sync automatically. That's the whole trick.

1๏ธโƒฃ Create your account

One account powers both apps. Create it at our signup page โ€” email, password, studio name, done. No payment details required.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Signing up from your phone? Perfectly fine โ€” your account is saved. Just remember MCT itself installs on your computer, so finish the next step when you're at your Mac.

2๏ธโƒฃ Install MCT on your Mac

  1. On your Mac, go to mycontenttools.com/download and pick the button that matches your Mac โ€” Apple Silicon or Intel. Not sure? Apple menu โ†’ About This Mac.
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag MyContentTools into your Applications folder.
  3. Open it from Applications. The first time, macOS asks if you're sure โ€” click Open. (It's signed and notarized by Apple's process; the prompt is standard for newly installed apps.)

3๏ธโƒฃ Sign in and link your account

  1. In MCT, open Settings (left sidebar, near the bottom).
  2. Find the MRP Account fields (Connections section) and enter the email and password from Step 1.
  3. Click Save Settings. Your trial activates against your account, and your desktop is now linked.
This is the single most important step โ€” it's what connects your desktop to your account and, later, to your phone.

4๏ธโƒฃ Get MRP on your iPhone Coming to the App Store

MRP is finishing App Store review. When it's live, install it from the App Store, sign in with the same email and password, and you're connected โ€” no pairing codes, no extra setup. Releases you capture on set appear in your desktop compliance archive after a sync.

5๏ธโƒฃ Your first ten minutes in MCT

  1. Add a model โ€” Models โ†’ Add Model. Name and contact are enough to start; compliance docs can come later or sync from MRP.
  2. Create a shoot โ€” Shoots โ†’ Schedule Shoot. Pick your model, date, and location; MCT can email a call sheet to you or the model.
  3. Import a video โ€” Video Library โ†’ drop a file in. Screencaps and AI title tools live here.
  4. Look at Settings โ†’ Modules โ€” hide any sections you don't need yet. The app is big; you don't have to use all of it on day one.

โฑ About your trial & what happens after

You're on a free trial โ€” the app shows your remaining days. When it ends, the app asks you to pick a plan (billed securely; cancel anytime โ€” see pricing).

Your data is never deleted, even if you don't subscribe. MCT keeps everything in a private database on your own computer, and your model releases and ยง2257 records stay in your account. Subscribe next week or next year โ€” it's all where you left it.

๐Ÿ†˜ Stuck?

Inside MCT, the chat bubble (bottom-right) answers how-do-I questions about any feature. Otherwise email support@mycontenttools.com โ€” we answer within 24 hours.

Note: My Content Tools is in beta. Some features are marked "coming soon" and will roll out over the next couple of months โ€” delivered automatically through the app's built-in updates.
